It’s hard to beat an expertly filled and wrapped dumpling – like the dumplings at popular Sichuan restaurant Chilli Fagara! We asked the team for a dumplings recipe so we could have a shot at recreating these winning morsels at home over the holiday season. Give them a go and make sure to grab the ingredients for dumplings sauce too!
Chilli Dumplings (Makes 10)
Ingredients for dumplings
- 100g minced pork OR 100g Impossible Beef mince
- ½ teaspoon light soy sauce
- ½ teaspoon ginger juice
- 10 dumpling wrappers
Ingredients to make the dumplings sauce
- 1 tablespoon Chilli Fagara chilli oil (or your favourite chilli oil)
- ½ teaspoon minced garlic
- ½ teaspoon light soy sauce
- A splash of dark soy sauce
- A pinch of Sichuan peppercorn powder (to taste)
- A pinch of minced green onion
Chilli Fagara dumplings recipe
- Marinate minced pork or Impossible Beef mince, mix well and add light soy sauce and ginger juice.
- Make a small indent in the middle of the wrapper and wet edges slightly.
- Place approximately 1 teaspoon of minced filling in the centre of the dumpling wrapper.
- Crimp and press edges to seal.
- Prepare a pot of boiling water, place the dumplings in and cook them at high temperature for about 8 minutes, until they float to the surface.
- Mix all sauce ingredients together and drizzle over the cooked dumplings. Garnish with Sichuan peppercorn powder and green onion to finish.
