Wondering when the public holidays in Malaysia fall in 2025? While there are 10 nationally gazetted public holidays in the country, things get a little more complicated because different states also celebrate their own specific holidays from time to time. Between the national and state holidays, employees are entitled to a total of 11 days off for public holidays each year.
If you’re travelling in Malaysia, keep the following calendar for 2024-25 at hand. And remember: these days (and the weekends around them, in particular) can be busy for flights, transport and accommodation. Alternatively, use it as a travel planner if you’re keen for the cultural experience of seeing how Malaysians celebrate each of these days.
