Artifice: The Stallery’s 10th Anniversary Exhibition

 This exhibition marks The Stallery’s 10th anniversary and celebrates its journey as a homegrown gallery founded and led by artist CHANG (formerly known as Ernest Chang).

Artifice explores the concept of duality and the conflict between life, time, and technology. Through the examination of Chinese scholar’s rocks, CHANG juxtaposes the purity of the natural form with the heresy of symbols from contemporary society, reflecting humanity in an increasingly artificial world.

Artifice marks a new era for CHANG and his practice in their milestone year, with the series presenting his most conceptual work to date, stripping away from his signature colour, line, and excess to focus on form and concept.
