Bookazine turns 40 this year, and as part of the celebrations, we’re giving away three copies of Blob: A Love Story, one of the popular Hong Kong bookstore’s favourite reads of 2025!
In our recent interview with Arti Mirchandani, we asked the Bookazine director about her three favourite books. Here’s the list she gave us:
- The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho remains one of my all-time favourites; you can read it over and over again and take away a different life lesson each time.
- A Thousand Splendid Suns by Khaled Hosseini is a hard read and not a book I would have picked up myself – it was chosen by my book club at the time and I’m so grateful; he’s a brilliant writer.
- I’m not a big non-fiction reader, but one book that came highly recommended is Educated: A Memoir by Tara Westover. It was a really insightful read that left quite the impression.
Arti then added that she’s currently reading Blob: A Love Story by Maggie Su. “It’s a light and easy read, a little surreal and offbeat and very funny. I’m enjoying the silliness of it!”
