About the school
ASHK offers a well-rounded education for ages five to 18, with the aim of encouraging students to develop as scholars and critical thinkers through high academic standards, holistic learning approaches and encouraging safe learning communities.
There have been some significant landmarks over the ten years. None more so than the school’s first Grade 12 cohort graduating from the school in 2023. More recently, ASHK students have been selected to travel to different parts of the world – including Germany, the Netherlands and South Korea – to perform at renowned festivals, including those hosted by the Association of Music in International Schools (AMIS).
Here are a few other things to know about this IB school in Hong Kong:
- ASHK is a part of the Esol Education group, which has nearly 50 years of expertise in operating international schools. It serves over 10,000 students, with affiliate schools in the Middle East, including in Abu Dhabi, Cairo, Nicosia and Aley.
- As an accredited International Baccalaureate (IB) school, ASHK offers students the opportunity to pursue the IBDP in Grades 11 and 12.
- The school is additionally accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) and the Middle States Association of Schools and Colleges (MSA). This means that, upon fulfilling requirements, students can obtain the equivalent of an American Secondary School Diploma.
The Class of 2025
The most recent cohort at ASHK was the school’s third graduating class. And they came away with some impressive results! The IBDP average score was 34.3, with a top score of 37, and 62 percent of students scoring at least one 6 or above in one of their IBDP subjects. Looking beyond high school, the Class of 2025 also received more than 60 university acceptances, with 42 percent receiving unconditional offers to various universities globally, including Juilliard, the University of Hong Kong and University College London (UCL).
