Jesus Christ Superstar in Hong Kong

The rock musical by Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber first debuted in 1971 and caused quite a stir! It tells the story of Jesus, Judas Iscariot and the disciples through a sung-through rock score. Based on the 2016 Regent’s Park revival of Jesus Christ Superstar, the show is presented in English with Chinese subtitles, and directed by Timothy Sheader with choreography by Drew McOnie. It’s long, but punchy and visually impressive – and the songs are still great!
It will be showing in Hong Kong from 8 July in the Grand Theatre of the Hong Kong Cultural Centre.
