Great Piano Concertos: Sunwook Kim & Beethoven

Sunwook Kim made history in 2006 as the first Asian pianist to win the prestigious Leeds International Piano Competition, aged just 18. He returns to Hong Kong Sinfonietta in a dual role, performing from the piano while also taking to the podium. He will lead Beethoven’s majestic Piano Concerto No 3 as both soloist and conductor, before conducting the orchestra in the evocative “Pastorale” Symphony. Through his thoughtful interpretation, Kim brings fresh perspective to Beethoven’s richly imaginative musical world, giving audiences two works in one performance.
