Hong Kong Holiday & Travel Expo 2026 Autumn is coming up, and it’s a great opportunity to take advantage of some special travel offers – including a whole bunch of discounts and deals for your next trip to Macao. Held twice a year at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, the Hong Kong Holiday & Travel Expo connects travel lovers with global destinations, exclusive booking deals and industry services. The Autumn instalment of the event runs from 25 to 27 September.

See Mak Mak at the MGTO booth
Charming Macao mascot Mak Mak will be making an appearance at the travel expo. Mak Mak is a black-faced spoonbill with a design inspired by Macao’s famous landmark, the Guia Lighthouse. She gives of vibes of a travel explorer, wearing a magical hat that stores all the information you might need on Macao’s weather, festivals and sights, and carrying an iconic lantern.
From now until January, the Mak Mak Experience Hub is open in the Ritz Building in Macao, giving the public a chance to browse exclusive cultural and creative merchandise that makes for fabulous take-home souvenirs. On weekends and designated public holidays, cafés and light-snack stalls add to the lively atmosphere. On those days there’s also a programme of family-friendly activities including mascot meet-and-greets, hands-on Mak Mak craft workshops, and picture-book reading sessions.
What’s new and notable in Macao?
Operating between now and January 2027 in Macao is the Leisure Bus, a free shuttle service offering tourists transport around key locations. Fourteen different routes are available, with starting points at resorts across the Macao Peninsula and Taipa, the Ruins of St Paul’s and Taipa Village (Pai Kok bus stop). It’s a great way to easily explore the city, enjoy local cuisine, discover cultural landmarks and soak up everyday community life.
